Power comes from three axial-flux electric motors, two mounted at the rear axle and one at the front, built into compact High Performance Electric Drive Units. The Mercedes-AMG® GT 55 4-Door Coupe produces 805 horsepower and 1,328 lb-ft of torque, while the Mercedes-AMG® GT 63 4-Door Coupe reaches 1,153 horsepower and 1,475 lb-ft of torque. With the optional AMG® Performance Package, the GT 63 4-Door Coupe accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in an estimated 2.0 seconds and reaches a 186-mph top speed.
There's no traditional gearbox, but the standard AMGFORCE® Sport+ drive program simulates gear changes for a familiar, sporty feel. All of it reaches the pavement through AMG® Performance 4MATIC+® fully variable all-wheel drive, and standard active rear-axle steering, which turns the rear wheels up to six degrees, sharpens both low-speed agility and high-speed stability.
Safety Features
This new Mercedes-AMG® coupe comes standard with a high-performance composite brake system that pairs carbon-ceramic front discs with steel rear discs for confident, repeatable stopping power. Standard active rear-axle steering also helps the driver stay in control during sudden evasive maneuvers.
